Brunch Buffets & Beachclubs
Places with great views and great food
Cozumeleños have embraced Sunday brunch as a time when they can linger with family and friends over a protracted morning meal. Cruise ships are usually not docked on Sunday, so things are often a bit more calm and slow.
Our choices have areas where you can sit near the water and enjoy the view, egg stations, tropical fruit, and panes dulces. They also have local favorites that change from week to week but which usually include cochinita pibil. There's usually a chicken dish.

Not a buffet, but you can get a great brunch here any day, not just Sunday. Beach club north of town with very nice breakfasts at the edge of the water. Great views. There's a swimming beach, snorkeling area, pool, and outdoor shower that restaurant customers can use!

Beautiful palapa overlooking the sea. Very good egg station. Waffles, crepes, pancakes, and chilaquiles (try chilaquiles con mole con huevo estrellado) made to order. Nice cochinita every Sunday as well as a couple of other local specialties. Good (veal) sausage & bacon. There's a station for fresh quesadillas (the proper kind made with masa rather than a tortilla) with huitlacoche, squash blossoms, Dutch cheese, and other proper quesadilla fillings - this alone can be worth it. Hot chocolate on the buffet. Disappointing orange juice (watered down, artificial-tasting) but good mixed fruit juice and "jugo verde". Parking is surprisingly scarce. Very popular with local families.

They have lots of fresh fruit and juice, eggs cooked to order, and 6-8 local specialties such as cochinita pibil, salbutes, tamales, etc. Hot chocolate by order. No bacon or sausage. Oddly, you can only get waffles by ordering from the waiter at this place still often called "Jeanie's Waffles" (but they're included with the buffet). Excellent view from the waterfront patio. Popular with locals. Lots of parking on the street or (covered) across the street at Mega.
